About Community First
We believe a student should never have to think twice about whether they have what they need for the school day.
Community First is a community program based in Henderson, North Carolina. We partner with public schools to run school shops where students select the everyday items they need — clothing, shoes, school supplies, personal care and hygiene products, accessories, snacks and seasonal essentials — at no cost.
This site brings that same experience online. Students and families can browse what's available from a phone, choose sizes, and submit a request privately. Our team receives the request, prepares the items, and coordinates pickup or delivery through the school.
What we believe
- Dignity first. Choosing your own items should feel normal, not like an intake process.
- Privacy always. Student information is only visible to the staff who fulfill the request.
- No cost, no conditions. There are no prices, payments or shipping charges anywhere on this site.
- Built with schools. Every partner school has a coordinator who helps students get what they requested.
